Running AP Linux 3.1 with a Schiit DAC and all seems well as far playback of MP3 file sis concerned without making any edits to mpd.conf
However mpd does not appear to be recognising other file types, notably ALAC, FLAC and .m4a.
From what I’ve read support for these files relies on ffmpeg. I’ve tried adding the snippet below to the bottom of the mpd.conf file without effect, so I guess I’m missing something.
Any pointers most welcome. I’m impressed so far with the sound quality of the system , so I’m keen to get the best from all of my digital music collection.
it’s a problem with the MPD Version of AP-Linux 3.1.
You can try to install a newer MPD Version – I failed with that.
Or use Deadbeef as Player.
Thinking to build myself a server with AP-linux. Most of my digitized library is in ALAC/.m4a so it would be nice to know if MPD works. Did anyone get it working?
Works for me. Offhand I can’t recall what I did to address the issue noted above, possibly just updating from the downloadable release, which is getting a bit old now.
